Lavender Mae

Mae's love is crystals and she knows all about them and what they are used for. At the potluck, she mixed the dyes and chemicals and was responsible for setting up and stirring the great pot in the back room. She took care of all of the rill flour and crystal flour. Crushing the crystals, labeling and prepping the dyes, keeping the potluck in order-these were all tasks Mae did happily. When magic became forbidden in all the lands and crystal dyeing was outlawed, Mae fell into a dark depression and has not been able to shed her gloom these past 20 years.

First she ran away to the rivers below the Crystal Caves where the freshets yielded the most crystalline glacier flour and lived as a river rat, traveling in search of the rarest dye crystals. Then she found a small cave not unlike the crystal caves and set up housekeeping there in secret. She has a hidden treasure trove of dyestuffs she has been secretly collecting all she can. Moody and elusive, she is difficult to summon and answers only to Smokey Jo.
